    Hi Dan,

    Welcome to TM.
No disrespect intended, but few adults will have enough money left in the Bank after December, to buy a Big Mac with cash in January. March is another bad time, when those Credit Cards need to be addressed...
So I am assuming you are still at school and banking on getting some money for Christmas presents to help pay for the horn.

I would probably wait until you have the money in the Bank before declaring what you will Buy in 2 months time.

There are 2 x ST-302s for sale here in Australia.

Not sure they will still be there in January next year.
The ST-302 is a massive horn, wonderful if you can manage it.
    Good luck

    Thanks Peter,
I'm 52 years old and I'm a come back player. I was a trumpet major in college in 1983. With 5 children and 2 grandchildren money can get tight for sure. With the way the economy is here in the US, and after the election I will probably be broke LOL. I've looked at Ebay and see that they are going for around 1200 - 1400 US dollars. I'm close to having that much. On another note do you know two good friends of mine in Melbourne?
William Cheung (Wing Chun Kung Fu Master) and Graham Griffeth who is a prominent Pedal Steel Guitar Player?
Nevertheless, thanks for the advice and info. Dan

    Hi Dan,
    Thanks for the info.

It is always best to go to "Introductions" and tell about yourself first. Welcome again to TM, we have lots of Comeback players in out midst, me included. I don't have the privilege of knowing your friends, but that's a diverse group - I am sure the Kung Fu Master is always the first line of defence if you have a problem, second line is to run quickly :)

I have 2 x ST302 horns. They are on Consignment with Ozwinds here in Melbourne - One is Silver plate, the other Lacquer over Brass/nickel. Both great players
    PM if interested.
    Cheers
    Peter

Ozwinds site seems to be down, unable to connect.

Dan, I can vouch for Peter's horns, I have played both. I have a rare ST301, I think it outplays the 302.

    Regards, Stuart.

    Here's my MF Horns ST-302

The lacquered horn is a later horn, and the Silver horn is an early model, with a first trigger. The silver horn has a bell slight distortion at the crook, where the bell has been pressed against the brace. Both are great players. Sorry mouthpieces are not included - Prana MF and Asymmetric Lead 342M - FYI

If you plan on a ST-307, you better have the air compression and chops to handle it. It can be a tiring horn for lead players. You might be better served looking for the smaller bore St-302. Most people tend to favor that one for a less tiring blow.

The bore is the same, .468, on both horns.

I stand corrected on the bore size, but many have still commented that the 302 is less tiring. There must be more to it than just the bore.
