![]() | WTS: 1946 Martin Committee If I end up messing this up I apologies. I have not tried to post an for sale item before. I currently have a 1946 Martin Committee which is in perfect condition. It has been refinished though. The finish was about 50% and I chose to redo the horn. No dents all original and the horn has no patches. I bought it from the original owner who played bought it when he was 9. I am wanting $1895 for the horn and martin 10 mouthpiece. The case was a totally lost cause. The horn looks almost too good to play. Last edited by emd244w; 02-22-2009 at 12:27 PM. |

![]() | Re: WTS: 1946 Martin Committee It is .451 inches at the 2nd valve. Large bores are tough to come by. This trumpet is by far the best Martin I have seen before. I also had an all original untouched 1945 martin for while. I know everyone wants unresotred horns but having had both I really don't understand this. I did the 2nd Martin the way I wanted. It is correct coloring as original and looks like a piece of art. It was finished by a local shop that does work for the St.Louis Symphony. I can send pics if you like. Thanks Jeff |

| New Friend | Re: WTS: 1946 Martin Committee Do you mean it was just re-lacquered or were repairs done on it? Who did the work? What condition are the valves? TIA |

![]() | Re: WTS: 1946 Martin Committee The horn just sold. It was re-lacquered and some one ding removed. I think the market for these horns is coming down right now though. Along with most everything else I suppose. I think the people who value the original finish, no matter how bad it is have never done a before and after play test on a horn. Mine played better after it was redone and looked amazing. Personal taste thought. Thanks Jeff |
