WTS: Burbank pocket trumpet - Claude Gordon large bore

This is serial no. 1408. It's a unique looking instrument based on the Benge Claude Gordon mode but put in a more compact shape. It has the tone and playability found only in the best hand made trumpets. This instrument was made specifically for its original owner by Zig Kanstul and is a one off model with a .470" bore. Lacquered brass finish that has had some dents taken out (but very well done), most noteably in the bell bend (I've included a picture but its really hard to see).

The trumpet plays exceptionally well with good intonation. Valves are very good and all slides work. It sounds better than many full-sized trumpets and I've used it on a daily basis for alot of work. Like the best Benges, it plays like its "alive".

It's said that the Benge pocket is the "gold standard" by which other professional pocket trumpets are measured. This instrument might well be the reference model against which other Benge pockets are measured.

Priced at £900. The instrument is located in Surrey, UK. Please contact me if you are interested.
