![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Shires Trumpet Trials/Consults in LA 10/26-27/09 Trent. We've had our issues in the past (like when I suggested Dave Monette made his Elysian trumpet as much for the junkies in N.O. as anyone else in that fine city and you PM'ed me, all p-o'd and accused me of driving off members from TM wrong, by the way.) OK, so be it. Is there any way, however, you can cool down the Shires hucksters? If not, I'll do everything in my power to drive them off. Take out an ad, dudes.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Shires Trumpet Trials/Consults in LA 10/26-27/09 I don't like to disagree with the moderators on here but, (there is always a but) I think you should cut him some slack. or go after the Jager guys and New York trumpets too. There have been a lot of people selling trumpets on here.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Shires Trumpet Trials/Consults in LA 10/26-27/09 I think the content is ok, but that this thread belongs in the marketplace, which probably won't get as much traffic. If there were real meat about the instruments, how they play, how they are built, how fast the valves wear, resale value and the like, I would feel better about THIS thread being here in the equipment forum. Granted, we do have a lot of posts in the wrong place and generally cut everybody a lot of slack for a long time. This is a thread about Trents highly qualified SERVICES, not about the equipment itself. Trumpetmasters success has a lot to do with plugged in players like Trent. He has a vast knowledge of hardware, because he has bought just about everything there is over the years. Now that he has "financial" interest in Shires, that does not change his experience or scope just a bit in how we sort the nature of his posts. We always have to consider that the moderation here is not a "job" where we get paid to get things done. We do it because it is fun to help. Helping is easier when the posters put their stuff in the right place. We do have a marketplace and ad schedule. Regular posting in the marketplace keeps the thread near the top too.
