WTS Bach 239G

Hi, all.

For sale, my Bach 239G, raw brass bell and slides, lacquered valve section. 25C leadpipe (I also have an unmounted S if you would prefer that).

Condition is good. Little bit of grime on the pistons, couple of "love dents" on the bell, dent on the 3rd valve slide. Everything works like you would expect on a professional horn.

I've had the most success on this horn in solo situations, chamber works, and orchestras. Most recently, I played it on Parable XIV by Vincent Persichetti for the 2009 ITG solo competition. It has seen considerable time with several brass quintets, chamber groups, wind symphonies, and orchestras. People most often comment on the sound quality-- the gold brass sounds very sweet at soft dynamics but has a characteristic intensity at fortissimo. It also looks good. People who have played it (myself included) comment on the ease of the upper register (that's the important part, right??? ).

Anyway, it is a good horn and I am sad to see it go. Asking $1500, shipping included (I get a deal at the local Fedex). I can do Paypal, at buyer's expense. Let's say another $50 for the S pipe. No case, no mouthpiece. Will entertain all reasonable offers. Sorry, no trades.

Contact at AndrewHarms@umkc.edu for pictures and questions.

Thanks for looking!

Re: WTS Bach 239G

Hi all,

In order to sell the horn more quickly, I have reduced the price.

Also, I wanted to include a few words addressing a couple of questions about the leadpipe. The original, and the one currently mounted, is a 25C. It plays very nimbly with this pipe, and although not always the first choice especially for orchestra players, it seems to fit this instrument-- the horn plays responsively and people often mention how easily it plays above the staff. This would be a good pipe for someone new to the C trumpet. I also have a 25S pipe, which improves intonation and allows all open fingerings, at the cost of requiring more air. Both pipes can do whatever you need them to, but some might find the S pipe more appropriate for orchestral playing. I can have either pipe mounted before I ship it, at no cost.

The reduced price is $1400, which includes both pipes and shipping (buyer to pay Paypal, etc).

Hey all,

In the interest of selling this thing, let's do $1200 or best offer.
