![]() ![]() | WTS: Light-weight Silver Monette C Trumpet Hi guys, This is a horn that I used to own and is being sold on consignment at Thompson Music by a friend of mine. This is one of the best C trumpets I've ever played--perfect intonation, brilliant sound, and INCREDIBLE response. This is the perfect horn for anyone who loves the feel of a lighter Monette but doesn't want to get strange looks. The only reason I sold it is because I have a silver Prana C trumpet on order, and the only reason my friend is selling it is because he just took delivery of a Prana C trumpet. At a little over a 3rd the price of a new Prana, this is a pretty decent buy. Check it out here: Monette MC-77 Chicago C Trumpet in Silver Plate SN:475 at Thompson Music Online The asking price is $4,000. Please don't ask me to put you directly in contact with my friend (i.e. cut out the middle man). Best wishes, Jimi

![]() | Re: WTS: Light-weight Silver Monette C Trumpet Did you buy this horn from Thompson originally? I seem to remember a horn there that looked VERY much like this one. Also, is the leadpipe slightly bent, or is that me? I think I remember thinking that last time I saw this horn (if it indeed is the same one) LE

![]() | Re: WTS: Light-weight Silver Monette C Trumpet I'm not thinking that Jimi is pulling a fast one on us...he posts on here quite a bit. Plus I know Mike Thompson well and trust him. It was merely an observation. RSemar, I see you're from Omaha. What's your story? I'm newly moved back to Nebraska (Grand Island), after a stint in Pennsylvania.

![]() | Re: WTS: Light-weight Silver Monette C Trumpet I'm a sophomore music major at UNO, originally I'm from St. Louis. I'm a student of Steve Erickson and David Hunsicker and I spend a lot of time at Thompson, heh. If you're ever playing in Omaha and you need players, we're always willing to play. You know, most of us are anyway. |

![]() ![]() | Re: WTS: Light-weight Silver Monette C Trumpet Hey guys- Yeah, this horn was on Thompson about a year and a half ago. It's been through a couple of owners, but plays really well. I never noticed any bend in the lead pipe, although you're right that of almost does in the picture. Maybe just a bad angle for the photo? -Jimi
