WTS: Smith Watkins C

WTS: SOLD!! Selling a Smith Watkins C Trumpet, Large bore, gold plated. SN 0122. 2 interchangeable leadpipes. 1 is a classic C sounding orchestral type pipe, the other is a more open pipe perfect for chamber music settings. Gold plate is 98% (one mark where water key was re-soldered - shown on photo). Valves are fast, with an Osmun alignment. Great playing horn; I have, however, gotten an Eclipse C to match my Bb. Photos attached. Asking $1750 (will ship in continental US).

Re: WTS: Smith Watkins C

Hi! Looks like a nice horn. What is what appears to be a black O-ring at the bottom of the third valve?

Re: WTS: Smith Watkins C

The black ring is just a "o-ring"; Osmun's website talks about how it can sometimes help with slotting. Take 1 second to remove. Not sure I ever detected any difference in how it plays with or without.
