![]() | WTS Bach 196 short bell Bb/A Bach 196 short bell piccolo. About 5 years old, per serial number. Condition is excellent/like new. There are some minor cosmetic blemishes in the lacquer due to a brace added by BAC Horndoctor between the leadpipe and 3rd valve casing. This reinforced what I perceived as a spot for potential damage. It is very secure now. No dings, dents, or even little spots. It has been excellently cared for. Lacquer, except in the spots surrounding the alteration, is beautiful and perfect. It is a very orchestral-sounding piccolo trumpet. It is a little bit larger and heavier than most piccolos. If you like a dark fluid sound, this is for you. I have used it for recitals, weddings, quintets, orchestras, you name it. It plays well on both Bb and A sides. It has paid for itself several times over. It is a very nice horn for the price. Comes with case, both leadpipes, and a Leather Specialties hand guard that no longer fits due to the added brace. I believe a shoe repair or someone with experience making leather products could alter it easily. I will also include a 7C mouthpiece, as that is the one I most often played with this horn and yielded the best tone and intonation. $1400 includes shipping. E-mail me at AndrewHarms@umkc.edu for pictures or questions. Last edited by AndyBHarms; 08-12-2009 at 05:07 PM. |

![]() | Re: WTS Bach 196 short bell Bb/A I'd like to get this thing sold. Let's say $1150, which is what I bought it for. It really is a great horn, especially orchestrally. Comparable to a Yamaha 6810 in terms of intonation, slightly deeper sound. |
