![]() | WTB: Old Bach Strad 183 Flugel Bottom Sprung Valves I am desperate!!! Please, anyone out there who may know of a repair technician or a music shop that has a drawer full of old valves, I've desperately been searching for a 1st and 2nd valve for an old "BOTTOM SPRUNG" Bach Stradivarius Model 183 Flugel Horn. Bach no longer has the molds, and no one knows who has them! The reps at Bach were gracious enough to tell me that there was good news though. "It would make a great lamp!" Oh, those were fighting words! Anyways, a horn maker/reapir technician has the horn now and thought we had finally located them last week, but upon arrival they were top sprung. It absolutely crushed me! 9 years this saga has gone on. Like a complete idiot I threw the old ones out thinking it would be no big deal to replace "Bach" valves. They had horrible brass rot when I bought it used, and like a young player I didn't know what brass rot looked like and got taken advantage of. Maybe someone has one sitting on a wall somewhere. Those two valves have got to be out there somewhere! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! It is a great opportunity to make at least a 100 dollars per valve that otherwise would be deemed as useless metal. Thanks for looking or asking around. Who knows who will end up helping me find my needles in the haystack. Instant Profit for those who find it! |
