Used Getzen 4 valve Flugelhorn in raw brass

Beautiful dark patina on the brass! that's 27 years of working gigs and flugely goodness. Oddly, this flugel does not have a serial number, the valve casings say "3-82 MODEL 896" obviously model 896 is the model number of the getzen 4 valver, but the 3-82 is intruiging. I sent an email to the Getzen company and they say that 3-82 is most likely a date (March 1982) and that this horn is a prototype model from the era of transition between the horns that had a very round bell bow and those with a square bell bow. Own a piece of history!

Getzen flugels have larger bores and bells than your classic Couesnon horn so the resulting tone is a bit bigger and bolder which I, for one, perfer. Getzen valves are industry standard and this horns are no exception, the stainless steel shines on and moves as fast as you can play!
