DrDave has a spectacular aura about
WTS: Wedge screw rim mouthpiece modifications

We are now offering Wedge screw rim modifications of the most popular trumpet mouthpieces as part of our regular stock. These will no longer be considered custom orders and can be returned if they are not suitable. This is a great way to see if the Wedge rim works well for you by comparing your own equipment to exactly the same mouthpiece with the only change being a Wedge rim.

Screw rim modifications are done as follows:

The mouthpiece is placed in the CNC machine and the cup is measured with a digital probe.
The original rim and upper 0.1" of the cup are removed.
766-36 threads, found on Bach screw rims, are added to the remaining under-part.
A new Wedge screw rim is programmed and milled based on the measurements of the original cup. The rim is designed so as to retain the cup depth of the original mouthpiece.
The original mouthpiece under-part and new rim are then placed in a lathe together, and the two are adjusted by hand in order to achieve a perfect, almost invisible blend.
Both the underpart and new rim are then plated.

Price of stock screw rim mouthpieces - base mouthpiece value plus $210 (Canadian)

We have an excellent source of used mouthpieces from which we can draw to provide economical base models. Call or e-mail for a price.

Price when you supply the base mouthpiece - these cannot be returned

Screw rim modification of your existing mouthpiece $35.
Custom Wedge screw rim $175, including re-plating of the underpart.

Total combined cost $210.
