![]() | Re: WTS: Glass trumpet!!! It doesn't look nearly as impressive as the glass trombone (maybe if you could make glass valves with the trumpet) Still, it looks promising. I wait for the day that glass valves are possible. Although with that much work going into a glass trumpet one would hope it comes with a more than decent case.

![]() | Re: WTS: Glass trumpet!!! Hey cool video. Yeah I was wanting to do a trombone eventually. Not as impressive huh, maybee not accept for the fact that my piece is entirely hand blown and most of this piece was done using a glass lathe. I wish I knew a little more about trumpets and the valves but giving the fact glass has to be anealed at 1050 degrees I dont know if its possible. I mean do the valves need rubber gaskets and such?Ive been playing this thing and man its so loud. I think Im gonna by a real trumpet, I love the instrument. |

There was a maker of crystal bells a few years ago, I don't think you can buy them any longer. http://www.trumpetmaster.com/vb/f131...lls-33847.html (Crystal or glass trumpet bells)

![]() | Re: WTS: Glass trumpet!!! A gentleman I study with did lots of experimentation with different types of bell materials. He did these experiments alongside Renold Shilke. They were both very impressed by the potential of glass bells. |
